RED SAND BEACH
The "Red Sand Beach" on the drive to Hana is Kaihalulu Beach; it's on the far side of Ka'uiki, the hill at Hana Bay. It is dangerous getting to it, and there's a fatal fall every few years of people slipping going down the steep trail. Because of this, we don't tell you how to get to it, but suggest you asking someone at the bay. We don't want to be responsible if you get yourself in trouble.
There are several beaches on Maui referred to as "red sand beaches." The photo above is Koki Beach in Hamoa. The red color comes from the oxidized iron in the lava.
